Critical Literacy Foundational Skills
We have chosen Memoria Press Classical Curriculum as a core teaching resource. Teachers will integrate a variety of other resources for instruction and assessment that may include specific programs to support students with challenges or exceptionalities in literacy development. Teachers receive ongoing training by experts in the field on critical literacy frameworks, such as assessing and explicitly instructing phonological awareness and phonics. Grounded in the body of research known as the Science of Reading and structured literacy, Holy Trinity educators will be teaching reading and language comprehension strategies, directly instructing writers to be flexible. Students will learn writing composition, grammar, and the revision process.
